South El Monte played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Saddleback Roadrunners, falling 49-14. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Andre Scott went supernova For Saddleback., throwing for 265 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 34 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Scott a new career-high in passer rating (161.5).

South El Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Saddleback, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
