Baseball Game Preview: Struthers Wildcats vs. South Range Raiders

Struthers is 1-9 against South Range since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. South Range took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Struthers, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Struthers earned a 6-2 victory over Ravenna. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

The team relied heavily on Anthony Pastella, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of JR Hovanec, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Meanwhile, South Range was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-1 to Boardman. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Raiders have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Struthers' win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for South Range, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
