Basketball Recap: Mason Wilder's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity Christian Academy over Mountain Grove Christian Academy

Trinity Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 53-39 bruising from the Mountain Grove Christian Academy EAGLES. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-31 two weeks ago.

Trinity Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mason Wilder, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Wilder is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cameron Stauffer, who posted 14 points.

Trinity Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Mountain Grove Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian Academy will head out to take on Berean Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Trinity Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Mountain Grove Christian Academy, they will face off against Maranatha Baptist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
