The Granada Hills Charter Highlanders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the La Canada Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Granada Hills Charter will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Granada Hills Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-4 margin over North on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Addison Moorman looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Annabella Ramirez, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-5. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jocelyn Jimenez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Granada Hills Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, La Canada never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over South Pasadena. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.
The result came thanks to Bentley Lebrecque's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Leela DiTullio was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Kazazian, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Granada Hills Charter pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for La Canada, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Granada Hills Charter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. However, it's not like La Canada struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Granada Hills Charter's way against La Canada when the teams last played back in February of 2023, as Granada Hills Charter made off with a 13-0 win. Will Granada Hills Charter repeat their success, or does La Canada has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
