Basketball Recap: Canute Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Canute's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 58-51 win over the Mangum Tigers. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Tigers are ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canute's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Mangum, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.

Canute will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fort Cobb-Broxton at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. Mangum has already played their next contest, an 81-30 loss against Riverside Indian on the 18th.
