Soccer Recap: Hanks Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Hanks and Del Valle have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Hanks Knights lost 4-1 to the Del Valle Conquistadores. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 580th, while the Conquistadores are ranked 95th).

Hanks' goal came courtesy of Sebastian Morales Manzur, who's now up to ten this season.

Hanks dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Del Valle, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hanks and Del Valle will both be playing El Dorado the next time they take the pitch. Hanks will host El Dorado at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Del Valle will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
