Basketball Preview: Twin Lakes Indians vs. Benton Central Bison
Twin Lakes is 2-8 against the Bison since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Twin Lakes Indians will face off against the Benton Central Bison at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Twin Lakes sitting on four straight wins and the Bison on seven.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Twin Lakes had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 54-46.
Addie Bowsman was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with six rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last four games she's played. Olivia Nickerson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Benton Central stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 61-19 win over North Montgomery on the road. Given Benton Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Chargin' Chargers are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Twin Lakes is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Benton Central, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.
Twin Lakes came up short against the Bison in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 52-45. Can Twin Lakes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
