The Vallivue Falcons will head out to take on the Minico Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vallivue is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Saturday, Vallivue needed a bit of extra time to put away Jerome. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Tigers. While the Falcons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Colt Augustus was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Eli Daniel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Baren Vadapalli also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Minico). They blew past Emmett 11-3 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spartans needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
The team relied heavily on Dominic Garza, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyx Guzman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Minico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Vallivue's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Minico, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.
Minico's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Vallivue has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .526. It's a different story for Minico, though, as they've only averaged .348. Will they be able to contain Vallivue's hitters?
Vallivue took their win against Minico in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 12-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vallivue since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
