Lexington is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Illinois Valley Central a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Lexington Minutemen will welcome the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts at 4:30 p.m.

Lexington fell victim to Gardner-South Wilmington and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Minutemen's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Illinois Valley Central beat Prairie Central 5-1 on Monday.

Emersyn Fleming spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Illinois Valley Central's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caitlyn Gillette, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Madeline Bazyn was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Illinois Valley Central, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
