Preview: North Davidson Black Knights vs. Central Davidson Spartans
The North Davidson Black Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Central Davidson Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Davidson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 426 points over their last six matchups.
North Davidson put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Ledford 81-40 on the road. Given North Davidson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Ledford is ranked 519th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Davidson found their leader in underclassman Kamauri Manuel, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Payton Eccles, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Central Davidson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Oak Grove with points to spare, taking the game 59-45.
North Davidson's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Central Davidson, their win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
North Davidson couldn't quite finish off Central Davidson in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 63-60. Can North Davidson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
