Basketball Recap: Greeley Central Has No Trouble Against Wellington

Greeley Central's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They strolled past the Wellington Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 56-38. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their 24-point performance the matchup before.

Madison Sepeda was her usual excellent self, putting up 21 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Greeley Central is 3-1 when Sepeda posts five or more steals, but 7-8 otherwise. Leah Archibueque also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

Wellington's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brookelyn Jones, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points and six boards, and Paige Hock, who posted five points and ten rebounds. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Greeley Central now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Wellington, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Greeley Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-31 defeat against Timnath on the 13th. As for Wellington, they have also already played their next contest, a 38-32 victory against Liberty Common on the 13th.
