Volleyball Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Conard

While Conard's victory against Maloney wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Wolves had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-2 on Monday. The Red Wolves haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Conard got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 22-25, 25-20, 29-31, 15-13.

Aidan P paced Conard's offense, picking up 19 kills. P got some help from Lucas H and his 49 assists. P was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Despite the loss, Maloney had strong showings from Sixto Munoz, who had ten digs, and Galo Cadena, who had 17 digs and three aces. Cadena is also crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 21 every time he's taken the court this season. Abdiel Cividanes also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Conard's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Maloney, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 15-1.

Conard has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Newington on the 14th. As for Maloney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Putnam on the 14th.
