Basketball Game Preview: Bowdon Red Devils vs. Pepperell Dragons

The Bowdon Red Devils will square off against the Pepperell Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowdon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Bowdon came up short against Atlanta Classical Academy and fell 72-62.

Bowdon might have lost, but man, Kaiden Prothro was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 31 points and 17 rebounds. The contest was Prothro's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zayland Allen, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Bowdon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Pepperell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They were beaten by Heard County 76-49.

Pepperell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Bowdon, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Bowdon was able to grind out a solid win over Pepperell when the teams last played back in January of 2019, winning 71-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bowdon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
