Patton has gone 6-0-1 against McDowell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Titans at 5:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Patton came up short against Polk County on Tuesday, falling 5-1. The defeat continues a trend for Patton in their meetings with Polk County: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, McDowell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 9-0 to T.C. Roberson. While losing is never fun, McDowell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 427th, while T.C. Roberson are ranked 41st).

McDowell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Patton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Patton came out on top in a nail-biter against McDowell in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
