Sumter extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 8-1. They walked away with a 36-29 win over the Ridge View Blazers. The Gamecocks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blazers, too.

Leading Sumter to victory were Franklin Richardson and Cayon Gordon. Richardson rushed for 91 yards and four TDs, while Gordon rushed for 131 yards and one score on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing yards Richardson has posted since back in November of 2024.

As for Ridge View, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Despite 360 more yards than Sumter, the Blazers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Ridge View still got an impressive performance from Spencer Bobian, who rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns. Bobian's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards. Carter Coleman also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.

Sumter has already played their next contest, a 52-27 victory against Westwood on the 31st. As for Ridge View, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-7 win against Blythewood on the 31st.
