Softball Recap: Two Rivers Comes Up Short

Two Rivers extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 8-7. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chilton Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly three runs.

Anna Klein spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Two Rivers saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Arnold, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As for Chilton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7. The game was the first time they have beaten Two Rivers on their field since April 24, 2023.

On Chilton's side, Lauren Roehrig was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Roehrig was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Two Rivers will square off against Brillion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chilton, they will head out to square off against Oakfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Oaks have averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season.
