Dallas County is 9-0-1 against Verbena since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dallas County Hornets are taking a road trip to challenge the Verbena Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Friday just wasn't the day for Dallas County's offense. They lost 15-0 to West Blocton on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Verbena came up short against Westminster School at Oak Mountain on Saturday, falling 12-2. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Verbena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Sullivan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Houston Brothers also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Dallas County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Verbena, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Dallas County took their win against Verbena in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dallas County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
