Basketball Game Preview: Tampa Prep Terrapins vs. Discovery Spartans

The Tampa Prep Terrapins will take on the Discovery Spartans at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Tampa Prep fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Berkeley Prep on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Buccaneers. The Terrapins haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Discovery waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 65-35 victory over the Hornets. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 25 points or more this season.

Discovery's win came from a few key players Tampa Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Darius Livingston, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Eric Dailey was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Tampa Prep's loss dropped their record down to 21-3. As for Discovery, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
