Basketball Recap: Southwest Valley Takes a Loss

Southwest Valley lost against Mount Ayr back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Southwest Valley took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Ayr Raiders. Southwest Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southwest Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Mount Ayr, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Southwest Valley and Mount Ayr should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. Southwest Valley will square off against Nodaway Valley at 7:15 p.m. on January 28th up 187 places (153 vs. 340). Meanwhile, Mount Ayr (ranked 98th) will meet Wayne (ranked 282nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
