Football Game Preview: Sahuarita Mustangs vs. Cholla Chargers + How To Watch

The Sahuarita Mustangs will square off against the Cholla Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sahuarita had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Pueblo put an end to it on Friday. The Mustangs and the Warriors were almost perfectly matched up, but the Mustangs suffered a 14-13 loss. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed seven in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Trent Hubble, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Sahuarita didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sergio Burgos Jr and Gabriel Wilson.

Meanwhile, Cholla got themselves on the board against Rio Rico on Friday, but Rio Rico never followed suit. They blew past the Hawks 32-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

With the defeat, Sahuarita broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Cholla, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything came up roses for Sahuarita against Cholla when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 40-0 win. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
