Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastern). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 67-0 victory over the Phalen Leadership Academy Falcon. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Comets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Falcon are ranked 309th).

Eastern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bently Hullinger, who rushed for 60 yards and one score, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one touchdown. Kaleb Hurt also helped with four TDs in total.

Eastern didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Hurt. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory (which was Eastern's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average over those games. As for Phalen Leadership Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Eastern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 47-18 victory against Sheridan on the 10th. As for Phalen Leadership Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 22-6 win against Tindley on the 10th.
