Basketball Recap: Teagan Martin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Flagstaff over Kellis

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Flagstaff can now relate to. They fell to the Kellis Cougars 71-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (62), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Flagstaff lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Teagan Martin, who went 10-for-13 on her way to 25 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Carter Edison was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Flagstaff's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Kellis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-2 record this season.

Flagstaff does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kellis, they will challenge Valley Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Valley Vista sitting on eight straight victories and Kellis on 14.
