Soccer Recap: Rio Mesa Has No Trouble Against St. Bonaventure

Rio Mesa's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the St. Bonaventure Seraphs 6-0. Considering the Spartans' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit St. Bonaventure with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aiden Gonzalez (2), David Marmolejo (2), Fredy Yepez, and Gerardo Vargas.

Rio Mesa's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-8. As for St. Bonaventure, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-7-3.

Rio Mesa will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Barbara at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Bonaventure, they will host Villanova Prep at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
