Basketball Recap: Northeastern Comes Up Short

Northeastern lost against West Jefferson back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Jets fell 34-21 to the Roughriders. While the Jets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Roughriders 7-3 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Northeastern saw an underclassman step up: freshman Annalee Williams dropped a double-double with 14 points and 17 boards. Williams is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Chloe Miller was another key player, putting up four points.

Northeastern now has a losing record of 1-2. As for West Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Northeastern and West Jefferson will both be playing Mechanicsburg the next time they take the court. The Jets will host the Indians at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Roughriders will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
