Basketball Game Preview: Ravenna Bluejays vs. Ord Chanticleers

The Ravenna Bluejays will head out on the road to take on the Ord Chanticleers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Ravenna has now lost 15 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 27.

Ravenna is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 79-65 to Gibbon.

Meanwhile, Ord hadn't done well against O'Neill recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Ord was the clear victors by a 73-49 margin over O'Neill. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Chanticleers have posted since January 10th.

Ravenna better focus on containing Landon Critel and Elijah Pollard as the pair were huge in Ord's win. Critel went 7-for-10 on his way to 20 points, while Pollard dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Critel has become a key player for Ord: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 15 points, but 5-11 otherwise. Jordan Williams was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Ord smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Ord's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Ravenna, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Ravenna might still be hurting after the 60-36 loss they got from Ord in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Ravenna, Blake Hinrichs (who posted 14 points in addition to seven boards and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
