Recap: Woodson Cavaliers vs. Alexandria City Titans
The Woodson Cavaliers lost against the Alexandria City Titans back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Woodson fell 58-50 to Alexandria City. Woodson has not had much luck with Alexandria City recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Woodson still got an impressive performance from Sean Donovan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylen Chilton, who scored 16 points.
Even though they lost, Woodson were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leading Alexandria City to victory were Kye Robinson and Darius Bivins. Robinson scored 24 points along with six rebounds, while Bivins scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least 25% of Alexandria City's points. Christian Washington was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Woodson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Alexandria City, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Woodson and Hazleton Area will round out the year against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Alexandria City will be home for the holidays to greet McDonough at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. McDonough has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 391 points over their last six matchups.
