Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gurdon). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Poyen Indians a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Go-Devils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gurdon got a big performance out of Nate Newton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Jester, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Gurdon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poyen only posted an OBP of .235.

Gurdon's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Poyen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
