Baseball Recap: Bowler Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Bowler barely beat Northland Lutheran the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Wildcats 10-3 on Monday. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Treyvon Granquist and Derek Schreiber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Granquist pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Schreiber didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Granquist has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Granquist got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Schreiber went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Schreiber also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Logan Windorski was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aj Geske, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Bowler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bowler's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Northland Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Bowler will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
