Baseball Recap: Mary G. Montgomery Takes a Loss

After flying high against Davidson last Friday, Mary G. Montgomery came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the Baker Hornets on Thursday, falling 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered against the Hornets since March 26, 2021.

Mary G. Montgomery saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Draime, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Mary G. Montgomery's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 11-13-1. As for Baker, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season.

While Mary G. Montgomery had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
