Basketball Recap: Lauren Steiner and Alana Burroughs Secure Win for East Chapel Hill

East Chapel Hill hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They managed a 47-42 victory over the J.F. Webb Warriors on Monday.

Leading East Chapel Hill to victory were Alana Burroughs and Lauren Steiner. Burroughs made all 7 shots she took for 17 points, while Steiner posted 13 points. Those 17 points gave Burroughs a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alison Zaranek, who scored six points.

Despite the loss, J.F. Webb still got an impressive performance from Sajohnna Alston, who went 6 of 11 en route to 17 points and five steals. Alston has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasey Lee, who had eight points and ten boards.

East Chapel Hill's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for J.F. Webb, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-1.

East Chapel Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-30 loss against Chapel Hill on the 24th. As for J.F. Webb, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-36 victory against Durham School of the Arts on the 24th.
