Softball Preview: Fenton Tigers vs. Kearsley Hornets

Fenton is 9-1 against Kearsley since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fenton Tigers will be playing at home against the Kearsley Hornets at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Fenton's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home while Kearsley has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Fenton is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Friday, just like they did against Linden (and have done all season long). Fenton blew past Linden 13-3. Fenton's win was all the more impressive since Linden was averaging only 3.55 runs allowed on the season.

Fenton let Taryn Craven and Sophie Collins loose on the outfield. Craven scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Collins scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Turkowski, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Kearsley fell victim to Linden and their airtight pitching crew last Monday. They lost 18-0 to the Eagles.

Fenton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. As for Kearsley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
