Baseball Recap: South Summit Comes Up Short

South Summit lost to American Leadership Academy on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Eagles, falling 16-9. Even though they lost, the Wildcats' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Kaede Jacketta and Owen Mair did some serious damage despite the final result: Jacketta went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Mair went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. South Summit is 3-1 when Jacketta posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brody Larson, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for South Summit and nudges their season record down to 7-11. As for American Leadership Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat South Summit by a score of 11-9 on Tuesday.
