Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

St. Mary had lost three straight headed into Friday's matchup, but William Weathington didn't let it get to four. The St. Mary's Rams came out on top against the West Wolfpack by a score of 45-35 on Friday thanks in part to Weathington, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Jayden Hinkston was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven rebounds and five blocks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

St. Mary's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11. As for West, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-8 record this season.

St. Mary's will host Tracy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West, they will head out to take on Modesto Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
