Basketball Game Preview: St. Andrew's Lions vs. Creekside Christian Academy Cougars

Two dominant guards in Zayden Edwards and Kaiden Williams are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the St. Andrew's Lions challenge the Creekside Christian Academy Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday... Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

St. Andrew's saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Starr's Mill by a score of 61-53. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Panthers are ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Creekside Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Saturday as they fell 62-56 to Stephenson. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Creekside Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Williams went 9 for 22 on his way to 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Maddox, who posted 11 points and five steals.

Even though they lost, Creekside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Creekside Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for St. Andrew's, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
