Purnell Swett has gone a perfect 10-0 against Seventy-First recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Purnell Swett Rams will challenge the Seventy-First Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Purnell Swett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Purnell Swett proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out South View 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Chandon Sanderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Sanderson was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Sanderson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Camden Hunt, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Seventy-First came up short against Jack Britt on Friday, falling 11-4.

Like Purnell Swett, Seventy-First also got a great game from a two-way player: Shawn Carroll. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Carroll has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Seventy-First's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't).

Purnell Swett now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Seventy-First, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Purnell Swett took their victory against Seventy-First in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 23-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Purnell Swett since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
