Basketball Preview: Pueblo South Colts vs. Widefield Gladiators
Pueblo South has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Widefield Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
Last Friday, Pueblo South took a serious blow against the Eagles, falling 69-27. Pueblo South has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Pueblo South's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Analisia Rendon, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Nayeli Soto who scored no points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rendon has scored all season.
Meanwhile, after only 24 points in their last contest, Widefield made sure to put some points up on the board against the Grizzlies on Thursday. Widefield came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 56-48.
Pueblo South dropped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Widefield, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Pueblo South beat the Gladiators 48-35 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Does Pueblo South have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gladiators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
