Baseball Recap: Preston's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Preston put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Cameron Yellow Jackets. The four-run effort marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Jayden Herring made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Herring wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Dean, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Preston pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.8 runs this season. As for Cameron, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Preston will host Ketchum at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cameron, they will welcome Stigler at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Stigler will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Cameron surely won't give up without a fight.
