Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Vikings vs. Unioto Shermans

The River Valley Vikings will face off against the Unioto Shermans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as River Valley comes in on 16 and Unioto on eight.

River Valley picked up another tournament win on Sunday. They were the clear victor by a 50-30 margin over Buckeye Valley. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

River Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Myers led the charge by going 6-for-10 on his way to 14 points along with six boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Myers a new career-high in blocks. Owen Osting was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Unioto had no trouble coming through when it counted. They beat Waverly on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 56-32. The Shermans are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 15th game they've won by 20+ points this season.

River Valley's record is now 23-2. As for Unioto, their record now sits at 23-3.
