Baseball Preview: Tell City Marksmen vs. Mt. Vernon Wildcats

Tell City has gone a perfect 3-0 against Mt. Vernon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Marksmen will host the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tell City's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Springs Valley. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marksmen.

Not much got past Jack Hammond, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Springs Valley off the board. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Hammond.
