Basketball Recap: Grassfield Piles Up the Points Against Great Bridge

Grassfield's game on Friday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They really took it to the Great Bridge Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-50 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-52 back in December of 2024.

Jacey Lewis was a one-man wrecking crew for Grassfield as he shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. The contest was Lewis' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Grant Worley, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 17 points.

Grassfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Grassfield's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Great Bridge, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Grassfield has already played their next game, a 49-43 loss against Deep Run on the 1st. As for Great Bridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-56 defeat against Grafton on the 1st.
