Dimond gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds 9-8. For the Lynx, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Thunderbirds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.
Dimond's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Belle Cavazos, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Coming up, Dimond will take on Chugiak at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. The match will give the Lynx their first taste of in-conference action this season. Bettye Davis East Anchorage will be paying especially close attention to Dimond's contest: after Dimond faces off against Bartlett, they'll take on Bettye Davis East Anchorage again at 7:45 p.m. on May 1.
