Football Recap: Jonny Bryce's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mayer over Joseph City + How To Watch

Mayer lost against Joseph City back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mayer fell 40-34 to Joseph City. Mayer has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonny Bryce, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. Kyle Dorman was another key rusher, gaining 65 total yards.

Mayer's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Joseph City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mayer will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Valley Union at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Joseph City, they will head out to face off against Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
