Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Fort Calhoun's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

While Fort Calhoun put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Aurora. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Huskies. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Levi Lasher tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chase Bierman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenny Wellwood, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Fort Calhoun has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Aurora, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Fort Calhoun nor the Huskies have any future games scheduled.
