North Crowley faced Guyer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Panthers made off with a 28-27 victory over the Wildcats. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Guyer's loss came despite strong showings from Kaedyn Cobbs and Carter Morgan. Cobbs rushed for 140 yards and one TD while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, while Morgan rushed for 39 yards and one score. Aiden Martens got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

North Crowley's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Guyer, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Crowley will square off against Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Guyer, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Flower Mound at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
