Soccer Game Preview: Panorama vs. Van Nuys

The Panorama Pythons will face off against the Van Nuys Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Panorama's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Panorama's offense. They came up short against Reseda on Wednesday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Pythons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1009th, while the Regents are ranked 466th).

Meanwhile, Van Nuys' game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sylmar 2-1.

Nolberto Cartagena and Dylan Villavicencio scored both of Van Nuys' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Panorama's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-1. As for Van Nuys, their win bumped their record up to 7-3-3.

Panorama skirted past Van Nuys 1-0 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Does Panorama have another victory up their sleeve, or will Van Nuys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
