Volleyball Recap: Madera South Comes Up Short

Madera South lost against Roosevelt back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Stallions came up short against the Rough Riders, falling 3-0. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Madera South was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Roosevelt's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-14, 30-28.

Isabella Zaragosa paced Madera South's offense, picking up seven kills. Zaragosa got some help from Liyah Chavira and her 17 assists. Zaragosa was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Madera South's defeat dropped their record down to 8-23. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

Madera South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against McLane on the 21st. As for Roosevelt, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Fresno on the 21st.
