4A-2 Region III District 12 Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

A Season-Best Performance from Bryson Roland Leads La Vega over Robinson

Bryson Roland produced his most outstanding game to date while leading La Vega to the win on Friday. Roland rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 103 or more in the last five games he's played.

If the past is any indication, Roland could be in store for another big game when he takes on Connally on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Roland saw the Cadets), he rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 59 receiving yards.

Big Game from Vincent As Connally Won 34-7

Connally found a leader in Jamarion Vincent as the squad took down Lorena on Friday. Vincent did his part (and then some), rushing for 185 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 69 yards and a touchdown for the 'W'. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

On the season, Vincent has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 76.5 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 50.63 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 110.88 rushing yards.

Braeden Ford Goes Supernova in Connally Victory

Keeping Vincent company is Braeden Ford, a fellow Connally player. He rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.

For the year, Ford has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 117.6 rushing yards per game.

Austin Marshall Turns in Season-Best Performance

Sadly, Austin Marshall posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Robinson over La Vega on Friday. Marshall picked up 192 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Robinson's success: when he posts at least 100 receiving yards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Robinson moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. Marshall's next contest is against Gatesville on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Brice Mccurdy Makes It Two for Robinson

Keeping Marshall company is Brice Mccurdy, a fellow Robinson player. He threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 31 yards.

On the season, Mccurdy has thrown 10 touchdowns while averaging 173.6 passing yards per game.
