Baseball Recap: Bayou Academy Has No Trouble Against Cleveland Central

After only one run in their last game, Bayou Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cleveland Central on Saturday. The Bayou Academy Colts blew past the Cleveland Central Wolves 15-4. The Colts' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bo Linkous made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Bayou Academy let Reed Holman and Reed Batts run wild. Holman scored four runs while going 3-for-4, while Batts went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave Batts a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of John Howard Gilbert, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Bayou Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland Central only posted a batting average of .208.

Bayou Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cleveland Central, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayou Academy will take on North Delta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cleveland Central, they will face off against Clarksdale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
