Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Tigers vs. Buchholz Bobcats

Last Saturday, Columbia came up short against The Villages Charter and fell 64-54. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Buffalo are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buchholz). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 67-32 victory over Belleview.

Buchholz's win came from a few key players Columbia will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alessia Chaves-Torres, who posted 17 points. Taylor Booth was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Buchholz's record now sits at 5-9. As for Columbia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.

Columbia came up short against Buchholz when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 57-50. Can Columbia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
