Basketball Recap: Alyssa Atkins-Dowd's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Desert Oasis over Shadow Ridge

Desert Oasis lost against Shadow Ridge two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks lost to the Shadow Ridge Mustangs at home by a 55-39 margin. The Diamondbacks just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Desert Oasis lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alyssa Atkins-Dowd, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kazel Jones, who scored four points.

Desert Oasis' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Shadow Ridge, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3.

After both having extra time off, Desert Oasis and Arbor View will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Desert Oasis is facing Arbor View at the right time seeing as Arbor View is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Shadow Ridge, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rancho at 5:40 p.m. on December 27th.
